I'm Still Here...
...if here means "this world," not "Covenant College, Lookout Mountain, GA." I'm actually back in PA right now; it's a little disconcerting. People have definitely changed, more than I have I believe.
I'm going out to see Troy now, so this is just a brief note to let you know that I'm still here. Which I've accomplished.
I think that moment was hilarious in the preview when Menelaus said "What we need is a hero" and the screen blacks out and two words come zooming up on the screen: "Brad Pitt." Like Brad Pitt's a hero. Ha ha. I laugh. But it might provide a few hours' sword-slashing entertainment. At worst, I'll be able to make fun of it like I did of the preview.

I'm actually pumped to see it. I guess I'm shallow!

Well, it was better than I expected. I actually like the Achilles/Briseis love subplot that they added in. Added a good bit of character depth to the hack and slash.

character development in a hack and slash movie? with brad pitt? well, i'll be durned. do you think it's worth seeing again? if evan thinks its worth seeing again, i should probably see it once. :)

well, it doesn't have much replay value. as newsweek said, it's not gladiator, though it tries to be. but as i remembered after posting last night, brad pitt's been good in some things, fight club for one.
it's worth going to see at the cheap theater, though maybe not now. i went primarily because it was a chance to get together with some old friends from church.
i have to confess, bob, that i initially didn't realize which bob it was posting on my blog. as dr. chapell said, how quickly we forget. God help me, i'm not going to forget you and all the rest of the grads, however.
