andrew bird may be my new favorite artist.

That is all.

Why isn't there many cello rock? Of course, we do have Third Lobby...

Church was good again this morning. Ok, so we're not strictly following the prayer book, but I think that the best worship, like the best poetry, has a mix of form and freedom. I like the way parishioners stand up to read the lessons and even do the main intercession (which is quite comprehensive - including petitions for the home church, the sick, those in authority, the church across the world, and world events, like those in Israel and Pakistan, after each of which major section we have a response, which I think helps the congregation participate and keep mindful). The times of silent confession (before the presiding minister's absolution) and petition are also good. And, though it might scandalize some in the PCA, I think that our equality in Christ (in whom there is neither male nor female, but we are one) is well-symbolized in that women, as well as men, read lessons and lead in prayer. I had never been in a church that did that before, so I thought it would seem strange, but it actually seems fitting.

Yes, we do indeed...man, Evan it sounds great. We miss you, but I wish more that I could be experiencing that with you than that you could return to us. Keep writing.
