A hard week ends
Anyone got any tips for behavior management in a small group (currently, very small group) context? I expected this would be a difficult part of the job for me. I need to learn how to become a figure who commands respect.

hmmmm, that's a hard thing to do. I think what mostly helped me was to expct them to see me as an authority figure. Because if you can't see yourself as one, the students never will. I think that each person has a different management system. Making sure there is quiet when there needs to be, or at least some way of managing discussion. Also, what are the consquences of breaking some rule? I have some classroom expectations that a teacher emailed me. I'm too tired to do anything right now that involves looking for something, but if I don't get it to you in a couple of days (and, of course, if you still want it), email me or something.
