thoughts after renewing my masshealth coverage
The government doesn't give people benefits based on work; it gives them based on paperwork.
I appreciate the state's health care program, but wish that it were less bureaucratic. How can we bring a community development mindset into government social services?

That's the million dollar question, Evan! it's the same here in the UK. I went to the doctor to register and told them my address and immediately they said "I don't know if we cover that address. Hang on, I have to check." I literally live down the street from the doctor's office. I was a bit flabbergasted at that. Somehow the health service has to provide choice and competition to its users - a mixed program rather than an absolute one that is run by bureaucrats.
